ATHENS, Ohio (March 29, 2000) -- Ohio Wesleyan used six runs in the fourth inning and
three runs in the eighth inning to rally past Ohio, 12-8, in college baseball action
on Wednesday afternoon at Bob Wren Stadium.
Junior Ryan Kyes and senior Jeff Rook had good games at the plate for the Bobcats.
Kyes, who had four hits, tripled to center field to start off the fourth inning and then
hit a double to left field in the fifth inning. Rook hit a three-run home run to center
field in the fourth inning. He finished the game with two runs and three RBI.
Other top hitters for Ohio included sophomores Scott Brownlee and Mike Arbinger,
and senior Brian Wingfeld. Brownlee, who finished with two hits, one run and a RBI,
hit a double to right field in the fourth inning. Wingfeld and Arbinger both had two
hits each for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats will host Central Michigan on Saturday, April 1, at Bob Wren Stadium. The
doubleheader also marks the beginning of Mid-American Conference play.
