Ohio Baseball Wins Double-Header Against Yale
ATHENS, Ohio (March 18, 2000) -- The Ohio baseball team won their double-header against Yale March 18 at Bob Wren
Stadium. The Bobcats won the first game 4-2, while winning by a score of 3-1 in the second game of the series.
Bobcats senior Tony Schiml and freshman Walt Novosel got their first wins of the season on the mound. In seven
innings, Schiml allowed two runs on five hits and had five strikeouts. In the second game, it was Novosel who
allowed only one run on eight hits and struck out four batters at the plate.
Ohio junior Andrew See led the team behind the plate. He went four-for-eight, including one double, one run and
two RBI. He now has 12 hits and four runs on the season. Other Bobcats scoring runs were juniors Chuck
Lombardy, Jeremy Johnson, Kevin Sullivan, Joe Carlone and sophomore Scott Brownlee.
Ohio's March 19 game against Yale was cancelled due to the weather
conditions. The game will not be rescheduled.
Ohio's next opponent will be Dayton when the Bobcats play a double-header at Bob Wren Stadium on Wednesday,
March 22, at 1:00 p.m. Admission into the game for adults is $4.00, and children under 12 are $2.00. Ohio
University students get in free with a valid student ID.
