Ohio's Converse and Conrad Named Academic All-American
ATHENS, Ohio (March 16, 2000) -- Ohio senior Melissa Converse and junior Jackie Conrad
earned Academic All-America honors from the NCAA Cross Country Coaches Association. To
qualify for this honor, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 grade-point average with
either a top ten-percent finish in the NCAA Regionals or named a qualifier for the NCAA
Championships.
In 1999, Converse finished 12th and Conrad finished 19th at the NCAA Regional Championships.
Converse qualified for the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive year and placed 43rd
in the event. Both Converse and Conrad were named to the All-MAC and All-District Cross
Country teams last fall.
