Ohio Men's Swimming and Diving Team in Fourth Place
After Day One of MAC Championships

ATHENS,
Ohio -- (March 3, 2000) The Ohio men's swimming and diving team
is in fourth place after the first day of competition in the Mid-American Conference
Championships at Bowling Green State University. Eastern Michigan, Miami and Toledo
hold the top three spots, while Ball State rounds out the top five.
The Bobcats had three top-five finishes to highlight the event. Senior Brian Billips
(430.30) took third place in the one-meter diving event. The 400 medley relay team
consisting of seniors Chris Kersicke, Nick Mellilo, Vermund Vetness and Joe Grigas took
fourth (3:23.78), while the 200 freestyle relay team took a fifth place finish (1:23.39).
The Bobcats will continue their quest for a MAC title today with final competition
