Ohio University Faculty to Perform with Lark Quartet

ATHENS, Ohio -- (March 1, 2000) Four Ohio University School of Music professors will perform with the
internationally renowned string musicians of the Lark Quartet in a chamber concert, "Celebrating the
American Spirit," at 8 p.m. March 8 in Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.
Accompanying the Lark at the piano will be Assistant Professor Alejandro Cremaschi, Associate
Professor Sylvia Reynolds Henry and Professor Richard Syracuse. Assistant Professor Rebecca
Rischin will perform on the clarinet.
The pieces featured at the concert include "Sextet for String Quartet, Clarinet and Piano," "Cafe
Music for Violin, Cello and Piano" and "Quintet for Piano and String Quartet."
The Lark Quartet, which was on campus from 1995 to 1998, was the first group to serve a
long-term residency at Ohio University. The chamber concert is the Lark's only appearance in Athens
this year.
The award-winning quartet, founded in 1985 and known for its traditional and contemporary
pieces, includes Diane Pascal and Jennifer Orchard on violin, Danielle Farina on viola and Astrid
Schween on cello. The Quartet has won several international awards and has performed around the
world.
Tickets are available at the box office for $8 and $10 for general admission and $5 for students.
