ATHENS, Ohio -- The University Osteopathic Medical Center (UOMC) announced today that it is consolidating the services from two satellite clinics in Nelsonville in a new, more spacious facility located at 294 Harper Street in Nelsonville.
The family physicians and certified family nurse practitioner from the UOMC Nelsonville Square clinic and the OB/GYN, geriatrics and internal medicine specialists at the UOMC-Doctors Hospital, Nelsonville, began seeing their clinic patients in the newly-renovated, 2,500 sq. foot Harper Street facility on Oct. 1.
According to Debbie White, RN, unit supervisor for the UOMC Harper Street clinic, "Our new facility features 10 patient examination rooms, a room designated for minor office procedures, a room to perform routine office lab tests, patient waiting areas, arrival and exit patient reception areas and areas designated for staff."
"Best of all, the building offers a modern, bright and cheery décor to make patients more comfortable, and for convenience -- ample parking for patients and staff as well as handicapped accessibility," she added.
White notes that while the general and gynecology surgeons and internists will see clinic patients at the Harper Street facility, they will also continue to perform surgery and see patients hospitalized at Doctors Hospital, Nelsonville. She also added that two UOMC pediatricians are planning to join the expanded UOMC Harper Street clinic practice in the near future.
