ATHENS, Ohio -- Friday Night at the Fights will make its return to the Athens area on April 25th at 8 p.m. in the Athens High School Gymnasium. Over a dozen amateur boxing matches between OhioUniversity students and community members are scheduled to take place.
The main events will be a Guns vs. Hoses Fight between Ohio University Police Officer Brandon King and local firefighter Garry Cline. The other main event will feature Ohio Boxing Club member ZacharyGraham battling Miami Boxing Club member Luke Corning. The under card bouts will be between OhioUniversity students who have been in training since March.
"We are very excited to be holding Friday Night at the Fights this year," said chairman Jason Wolfe, "It will be an exciting event for the entire campus and community."
Individual tickets purchased in advance are $6, tickets for groups of 10 or more people are $5 inadvance and on the night of the event are all tickets are $7. Tickets can be purchased by calling(740) 597-1742. Tickets can be purchased at the College Gate in Uptown Athensfrom 4 to 8 p.m.
The Ohio University Sports Administration and Facility Management program is bringing back FridayNight at the Fights this year for the first time since 1995. Friday Night at the Fights was heldannually from 1973-1995.
