ATHENS, Ohio -- An Ohio University student died Saturday, March 22, as a result of injuries suffered in a car accident in Titusville, Fla.
Morgan Dixon, 22, of Cincinnati, Ohio, was a senior communications major. She was scheduled to graduate this spring.
"We are all saddened by Morgan's tragic passing," said Richard Carpinelli, assistant vice president for Student Affairs. "Morgan was a bright, highly active student on our campus who meaningfully touched many lives. Morgan will be remembered by a great number of our students, faculty, and staff."
The first of two memorials planned to celebrate Morgan's life was held on Friday, March 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Wyoming Golf Club, 81 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Wyoming, Ohio, (513) 821-1515. The second will be held on Tuesday, April 1, from noon to 2 p.m. in the Baker University Center Ballroom on the Ohio University campus.
In lieu of flowers, Morgan's family and friends request that donations be made in Morgan's name to Ohio University Spirit of Kairos or to Ohio University c/o Office of the Dean of Students, 203 Baker Center, Ohio University, Athens, Ohio 45701.
