ATHENS, Ohio -- Students can dance the night away in their pajamas at the "Pajama Jam" dance party from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday, March 7, in the Baker University Center Ballroom. The dance is sponsored by the Ohio University chapter of the NAACP and Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.
Admission is $4 or $3 with a canned good or a non-perishable food item, which will be donated to a local food pantry. Spinning the tunes will be "dj AK," who will supply the musical backdrop of mainly hip-hop music.
Proceeds from the event will be used to support the organization's programming and outreach efforts on campus.
"We look to better the lives of minority students at Ohio University by sponsoring more events for students and providing more support for the community," said Lindsey France, treasurer of the campus NAACP chapter. "We have limited funds right now, and we'd like to have more money to hold cool events for students."
