ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University is launching a graduate program in communication technology and policy beginning with fall quarter 2003 through the College of Communication's J. Warren McClure School of Communication Systems Management.
The program is ideal for individuals pursuing careers in the telecommunications carrier industry, with Internet service providers or in information technology departments that are responsible for enterprise networking. The degree would also be of interest for those pursuing careers in consumer affairs or in government regulatory jobs.
The interdisciplinary program is designed so students can complete the coursework at the Athens campus in one year. After completing core courses, students will choose either a technology or policy specialization and will complete a professional project, comprehensive examination or thesis.
"We're hoping to attract students with several years of professional experience and also expect to draw students straight out of their undergraduate programs," said Andrew Snow, director of the McClure School.
