ATHENS, Ohio -- A reading to celebrate the publication of Ohio University's new literary magazine, Hotel Amerika, will be held on Friday, Jan. 24 at 8:30 pm in Seigfred Hall's Mitchell Auditorium on the university's Athens campus. The reading is free and open to the public.
Hotel Amerika, which succeeds The Ohio Review as Ohio University's nationally recognized literary magazine, features the finest in contemporary poetry, fiction and essays. A host of prominent authors appear in issue one, including John Ashbery, Andrea Dworkin, Susan Griffin, John Hollander, Philip Lopate and Charles Wright. Members of the community are invited to join the English Department's Creative Writing Program in marking the occasion of the publication of Hotel Amerika with a reading of material from the premier issue. Single issues and one-year subscriptions will be on sale at the event at special reduced rates.
