ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University Public Radio successfully completed its fall radio membership campaign by raising $60,444 in 10 days. WOUB surpassed the pledge drive goal at 10:45 p.m. on Oct. 21, during Audiosyncracies, a popular show hosted by Rusty Smith and Mark Hellenberg.
The drive ran from Oct. 12 to 21 and was one of the most successful in WOUB's history. Ohio University Public Radio wishes to thank all of the volunteers who took calls from listeners throughout the coverage area. With the help of community volunteers, the drive ran smoothly, even during peak call times when popular shows such as Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Car
Talk, Below the Salt with Keith Newman , and A Prairie Home Companion aired. WOUB would also like to thank the local businesses and restaurants that provided breakfast, lunch and dinner to the volunteers in the studio.
Doug Partusch, associate director for Development and Communications, extends his gratitude to all the participants adding, "Our listeners really responded. All of us at WOUB realize how important communication can be in our lives. We thank everyone for helping us continue to provide these services."
