Kick-off Celebration for United Appeal 2002 Campaign Happens Today
Athens, Ohio - The Kick-off Celebration for the United Appeal 2002 Campaign happens today (Thursday, Sept. 27) from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Pepsi Tailgreat Park, located behind the Ohio University Visitors Center at the corner of Richland Avenue and Shafer Street. Everyone is invited to join the Bobcat mascot and the Ohio Dance Team at this free event featuring live entertainment by the Ohio University Marching 110, a free barbeque sponsored by Damon's, and a raffle with great prizes.
"This is a fun event to share with the community what United Appeal and its member agencies do," said Pam Vander Ark, executive director of United Appeal for Athens County. "It's great to work with Ohio Athletics and we appreciate their support of our cause."
The event, co-sponsored by Ohio Athletics and the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce, helps to initiate the 2002 fund-raising campaign for United Appeal for Athens County.
