ATHENS, Ohio -- Community and Professional Programs at Ohio University is sponsoring a "Grants and How to Get Them" workshop on Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Grover Center.
Participants will learn how to raise money from public and private sources to support research projects, organizational or personal interests. This popular one-day seminar is ideal for those with little or no experience in grant writing and will take you step-by-step through proven techniques for identifying and contacting potential funders, developing and submitting proposals, and following up on your requests.
The instructor, Richard Morgan, has been executive director of national and international nonprofit organizations and agencies. He has held high-level positions in development and fundraising, and has taught at several colleges and universities throughout Ohio.
Participants will receive a 150-page manual to guide them through the grant writing process and will be awarded a certificate for .5 Continuing Education Units (CEU) upon successful completion of this workshop.
The cost for the workshop is $75 and includes, lunch, materials, instruction and a CEU certificate suitable for framing. University personnel as well as the public are encouraged to attend.
"I am sure there are many people who would like to apply for grants to fund their projects, but don't know how to get started," said Lisa Dael, program coordinator for Community and Professional Programs. "We hope to demystify the process in this workshop."
