ATHENS, Ohio -- Get ready for an evening of fun and excitement! On Friday, June 21, WOUB/WOUC-TV and Adelphia Cable will sponsor a "Kids' Club Night" at the Chillicothe Paints game in Chillicothe, Ohio. Featuring an appearance by the popular PBS children's character Clifford the Big Red Dog.
Clifford, the star of his own PBS animated children's television series, emphasizes good citizenship and the importance of community. Through the character of Clifford, whose heart is as big as he is, children absorb gentle lessons about acceptance and inclusion. Clifford's "every dog" kindness has made him a beloved icon with children and parents for more than 39 years. Clifford's stories also demonstrate an important lesson for children -- that approaching the world with open hearts and minds brings many rewards.
In addition to Clifford the Big Red Dog's appearance at the Chillicothe Paints game, the first 200 kids through the gate will receive a free Clifford book and a WOUB/WOUC-TV Kids Club sipper cup. Kids will also have a chance to win Clifford Gift Packs throughout the game.
Clifford the Big Red Dog is the most popular childrens' program on television today and airs each weekday at 8:30 a.m. and at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings throughout the summer on Ohio University Public Television. Join Clifford the Big Red Dog and his friends for more games and entertainment at www.pbs.org
