Ohio University Launches Reflections Web Site
ATHENS, Ohio -- The recent tragedies in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania have created a national outcry that is echoed on the campuses of our nation's institutions of higher learning.
In an attempt to help our community cope with these disasters, Ohio University launched a new Web site, "A Time for Reflection" (www.ohiou.edu/reflections). The site serves as a memorial to those lost and provides an open forum for all to respond to what our country faces.
"The site will allow students, faculty, alumni, and staff to respond to our nation's tragedy," said Tracy Corrigan, senior Web designer for Ohio University Communications and Marketing. "We are trying to build a sense community -- inside and outside of the University -- for a collective response to what our nation is facing."
Featured links on the site include the response from Ohio University President Robert Glidden, a message board for the community to voice its opinions, and links to the campuses response. The site will continue to expand as information becomes available. The site will be maintained by Ohio University Communications and Marketing.
