International students need hosts for overnight stay in summer

ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University will be hosting a variety of international students who are coming to Athens to study English and culture for four weeks during the summer. The university is asking community members to open their homes to one or two college students for a Sunday afternoon or an overnight homestay during their visit, as an opportunity for the students to learn more about American culture and life.

There are two types of programs:

  • Home Visit is one Sunday afternoon either July 7, 21 or 28.
The home visit entails that participants meet the student(s) at 1 p.m. and return them to campus at 6 p.m. It is possible to make alternate arrangements if necessary.
  • The second option is the Fulbright Homestay Overnight from Saturday, August 10 to Sunday, August 11.
For the homestay, participants will meet the Fulbright student(s) at 10 a.m. on August 10 and return them to the campus on Sunday.

To participate in this unique event, contact Gerry Krzic and be sure to specify which program(s) interest you.
