ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University graduate film student Justin Zimmerman will screen a thesis show Thursday, June 6 at 7 p.m. in Seigfred Hall. The screening is free public.
Zimmerman will be premiering his documentary, one of five, and show selections of his previous work including Meeting Again: Remembering The Millfield Mine Disaster.
The 27-minute film, one of five, brings together five individuals, an African-American inner-city grandmother with Alzheimer's, a paranoid schizophrenic who sees space aliens, a young woman marked by her mother's alcoholism, a poor Appalachian youth who lives on 400 acres of land and an 8 year old with Down's syndrome.
Zimmerman mixed interviews with the subjects and their families with snippets of their routines and interconnected the five through similarities in their daily lives.
Zimmerman will graduate this spring with a master's degree in film.
