ATHENS, Ohio -- Sarah Jones will perform her one-person play, "Surface Transit," at 8 p.m. Monday, May 13, in the Baker University Center Ballroom. The play takes a dramatic look at issues of race, class, gender, homophobia and others with a humorous and musical touch. Jones has performed in front of the United Nations Conference on Women's Rights in China and with Paul Simon, Gil Scott-Heron and in Spike Lee's movie "Bamboozled."
Tickets are $3 with an Ohio University student ID and $4 for general admission, and will be available at the door and from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Baker University Center lobby the day of the show. The event is sponsored by the Feminist Coalition, Black Student Cultural Programming Board, Positive Action, OU Men Against Sexism, Open Doors, Unified Sisters, one, ACRN, Women's Studies Department, University Program Council, The Performing Arts Series and Student Senate.
