ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University President Robert Glidden will present his annual State of the University Address at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.
Traditionally presented over Homecoming Weekend, the address was moved up this year to set priorities in motion earlier in the academic year. The address will focus on a five-point mission statement intended to guide university decision-making for the next three years. Community members are welcome to attend.
"With very little increase in state funding this year and virtually flat funding next year, it is important that we plan carefully and prioritize thoughtfully in order to serve students more effectively and efficiently," Glidden said.
The president will expand upon five goals, including maximizing the learning opportunities afforded by a residential campus environment and expanding service to the region.
