ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University is proud to announce that it will host an interactive seminar entitled "Establishing a Clinical Research Agenda" with guest speaker, Steven Wolf, PT, Ph.D., Professor, Emory Department of Rehabilitation Medicine; professor of Geriatrics, Emory Department of Medicine; associate professor, Emory Department of Cell Biology; and assistant professor, Emory Department of Surgery. The lecture will be held April 23 from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be a continental breakfast at 8 a.m.
Wolf is currently an Ad Hoc Study Section Member for NIDCD and NCRR at the National Institute on Health. He is a past Study Section Member for NIDRR (Biomedical Engineering) and NIHR (Med. Rehabilitation). He has also served on the Research Review Panel for the Foundation for Physical Therapy. He is a grant reviewer for Heritage Foundation (Canada) and the Medical Research Council (Canada).
He is the author of 117 peer reviewed articles and has written as many non-refereed publications. He is the editor/author of several texts. He has served on the editorial board on such journals as Physiotherapy, Physical Therapy Practice, Journal of Rehabilitation and Health, Journal of Head Injury and Rehabilitation, Topics in Stroke Rehabilitation; or as manuscript reviewer for such journals as New England Journal of Medicine, Gerontologist, Journal of Neurophysiology, Journal of Gerontology, Experimental Brain Research, Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, Experimental Neurology, etc. He has been an invited speaker for over 500 events.
Wolf also has authored 37 funded grant proposals in clinical research. His two most recent grants are the following: "Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine in Neurodegenerative Disorders" (Mahlon R. DeLong, M.D., Director; Steven L. Wolf, Ph.D., Associate Director from the Center on Complementary and Alternative Medicine, NIH for $7.9 million and "Extremity Constraint-Induced Training Evaluation (EXCITE)" (Steven Wolf, Ph.D., Principal Investigator, Edward Taub, Ph.D., C0-investigator, NCMRR and NINDS for $7.5 million.
