ATHENS, Ohio -- Members of the Ohio University community can share their feelings on the Sept. 11 tragedy in writing as part of "University United: A Time for Reflection."
A quiet space to write will be provided in the 1804 Lounge in Baker University Center. Stationery and writing tools will be provided. Reflections can be turned in through Sept. 21 at the collection box located at the Baker University Center Information Desk.
Passages may later be shared with past and present members of the university community directly affected by the tragedy. Also, writings may be selected and possibly edited for public display on campus and on the university's Web site.
"Many members of the Ohio University community have been directly and indirectly affected by this tragedy," said Dean of Students Terry Hogan. "It may be some time before we know the full impact of these disasters. This writing reflection project provides an opportunity for us to share our heartfelt wishes, our hopes and dreams, and our bits of wisdom to help us sustain each other and to carry on."
The project is a joint effort of Student Senate, the Center for Community Service and the Dean of Students Office.
