Discussion on Terrorist Attacks Kicks Off Faculty Forum

ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University Visiting Professor of Political Science Symeon A. Giannakos kicks off the Center for International Studies' weekly Faculty Forum Friday, Sept. 14, at 4 p.m. in 101 Copeland Hall with a presentation on the recent terrorist attacks and the implications on international politics.

"These acts of terror are a message of changes taking place in the world," Giannakos said. "We need to rethink our entire approach to politics. It seems like a new trend has started and the world needs to start brand new thinking about how it operates."

Center Director Josep Rota will moderate a discussion following the presentation by Giannakos.

Giannakos teaches courses in international relations, nationalism, ethnic conflict, conflict resolution, ethics and international affairs. His primary research area is national identity and conflict.

The Faculty Forum is free and open to the public.
