ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University's Classified Senate announced that Brenda Llewellyn of the Athens campus has been named the non-bargaining Classified Employee of the Month for March 2002. Llewellyn is an administrative associate for the School of Comparative Arts and has worked at Ohio University for over nine years. She was nominated for this honor by the director of Comparative Arts, William F. Condee.
"I am in my first year as director of the school, and this program has been through a period of three years of interim directors. One person has provided consistency during this period: Brenda Llewellyn. She knows every detail of the school's workings and makes sure everything is done, done on time, and done well," Condee said of Llewellyn.
Llewellyn said her position in the School of Comparative Arts has been extremely rewarding, a fact of which she is very proud. "I not only enjoy the work that I do, but the people I work with including the director, Dr. William Condee, faculty members and students," she said.
In addition to this award, Llewellyn was one of the 2001 Outstanding Classified Employees; she has a bachelor's degree from Ohio University in Business Administration with specializations in finance and management; she earned the Certified Professional Secretary rating and is one of only two Ohio University employees to have passed the national exam to qualify as a Certified Administrative Professional.
This monthly award is made based on nominations submitted by members of the university community for any non-bargaining unit classified employee who is setting standards for excellence and innovation by promoting unity, community, continuity and visibility. Award winners show outstanding individual achievement, contribution, innovation and performance of their jobs.
