ATHENS, Ohio -- WOUB/WOUC-TV has successfully completed its March Marathon Membership Campaign, raising nearly $74,000 in just 17 days -- seven days fewer than last year.
Running from March 1 through March 17, the drive was one of the most successful in the station's history. Ohio University Public Television thanks all of the community volunteers who offered time to take calls from listeners throughout the region and to the local businesses and restaurants who provided breakfast, lunch and dinner for them.
Associate Director of Development and Communications Doug Partusch extends his gratitude.
"The level of community participation this year is very encouraging," he said "I think it proves that people feel very strongly about public television and that they want to ensure its continued availability in our region."
The annual pledge drive again demonstrated the popularity of such shows as "Red Green Live," "All Star Bluegrass Celebration," "Lawrence Welk: Milestones & Memories," "Rock, Rhythm and Doo Wop," "R&B 40" and children's programming.
