Ohio basketball teams host Bowling Green on Saturday
Women are eighth seed, while men will be seeded fourth, fifth or sixth

ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio University women's basketball team (12-15, 7-9 MAC) will look to extend its season when it hosts Bowling Green State University (9-18, 6-10 MAC) at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2 in the first round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament. Tickets are $6.

The teams have split two games during the last 26 days. Ohio won 78-69 in overtime at Bowling Green on Feb. 5, while the Falcons left Athens with a 57-56 win on Feb. 19. The winner of the game advances to Cleveland's Gund Arena for a MAC quarterfinals game against MAC East Division champion Kent State at 2 p.m. March 6.

The Ohio men's basketball team (16-10, 10-7 MAC) wraps up its regular season at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 2 when it hosts Bowling Green (22-6, 12-5 MAC). The game will help determine what seed the Bobcats (16-10, 10-7 MAC) have when they host a first round game in the MAC Tournament at 7 p.m. Monday, March 4. With a win, they will advance to the MAC quarterfinals at Gund Arena on Thursday, March 7.

The Bobcats will be seeded between fourth and sixth in the tournament and their opponent will be determined after the completion of Saturday's games. The Falcons have secured the third seed and a first-round bye in the MAC Tournament and will play a quarterfinals game at 9 p.m. Thursday, March 7 at Gund Arena.

For ticket information, call the Ohio University Athletics Ticket Office at (740) 593-1300 or (800) 575-CATS.
