ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio University Alumni Association and the Division of Lifelong Learning have collaborated to bring Ohio University's first Celebration of Woman conference to fruition. To be held April 18-21, the conference welcomes all women, including Ohio University students, faculty, staff and alumni, community members and others, to come together for an extended weekend of personal, professional and intellectual exploration.
With late-day activities beginning on Thursday, April 18, the conference is designed to give women the opportunity and encouragement to share their experiences, challenges, victories and aspirations with one another, collaborating in support of themselves and women worldwide. Sessions will address women's health, achieving lifestyle balances, parenting (of both children and elderly parents), business and corporate advancement and philanthropic and financial planning, as well as recreational and leisure endeavors.
A variety of special-interest gatherings are planned, in addition to luncheons and dinner presentations. The Ohio University School of Music Jazz Festival on Friday, and a performance by the Local Girls on Saturday bring evenings to a close with free-spirited entertainment for a true "girls' night out." Sunday's closing brunch will bring a time of personal reflection.
Early bird registration ($199 for the full conference) will be available until March 15. After this date, the conference fee will be $239. Participants may also opt for one-day participation (Friday or Saturday), at a cost of $149.
