ATHENS, Ohio -- In honor of its completion, the Nelson Mini Mall will celebrate its official grand opening during the week of Feb. 20 through Feb. 27.

The grand opening will be marked by daily giveaways, highlighted by a Feb. 27 drawing for two 10-speed mountain bikes. Other items to be given away include 12-packs of soda, Ohio University mugs and Sunset Chicken and Smart Mouth Pizza combo meals. The drawings are open to the public and can be entered by filling out an entry form at Nelson, Boyd or Shively markets on the Ohio University campus.

"We finally got all of the stores in the mall opened and just wanted to celebrate by rewarding our customers," said Director of Dining Services Greg Hopkins. "I encourage everyone to visit the mall to see how nice it is."

CopyCat Plus at Nelson, a new copy center operated by Ohio University Printing Resources inside Nelson Market, is the latest addition. It opened Jan. 24 and offers its customers black and white digital copies, transparencies, faxing and various laminating and binding services. It also provides finishing services such as cutting, folding and stapling.

The mall also features the Smart Mouth Pizza and Sunset Strips franchises and a Food We Love store. The restaurant enables students to enjoy fast-food chicken and pizza items as part of their Ohio University meal plan. Food We Love is a retail store that exclusively sells locally made items, including foods, clothing and dry goods. It is managed by ACEnet, a local small-business incubator dedicated to assisting the local economy.
