ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University will officially be closed Monday, Jan. 21 in observance of the national Martin Luther King Day holiday. University offices will be closed and classes will not be in session. This includes all regional campuses, as well as the College of Osteopathic Medicine and all branches of the University Osteopathic Medical Center. All six sites -- UOMC-Parks Hall in Athens, UOMC-O'Bleness in Athens, UOMC-Allergy/ENT in Athens, UOMC-Coolville, UOMC-Nelsonville Square, and UOMC-Doctors Hospital in Nelsonville -- will be closed. The university will reopen Tuesday, Jan. 22, operating under normally scheduled hours.
While the university will be closed, there are a bevy of events planned to honor King's memory. In addition to the annual vigil at the College Gate, there will be a brunch featuring keynote speaker Roland S.
