ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University will officially be closed Tuesday, Jan. 1 in observance of the national New Year's Day holiday. This includes all regional campuses, as well as the College of Osteopathic Medicine and all branches of the University Osteopathic Medical Center. All five sites -- UOMC-Parks Hall in Athens, UOMC-O'Bleness in Athens, UOMC-Coolville, UOMC-Nelsonville Square, and UOMC-Doctors Hospital in Nelsonville -- will be closed. The university will reopen Wednesday, Jan. 2, operating under normally scheduled hours and with the residence halls opening at 9 a.m. Also, classes begin on Wednesday, Jan. 3. Students, please note: TRIPS and Web registration will not be available Jan. 1.
