WOUB/WOUCTV completes successful "Holiday Showcase" membership campaign

ATHENS, Ohio -- WOUB/WOUCTV, Ohio University Public Television, successfully completed its "Holiday Showcase" membership campaign, raising $51,132 in 12 days. The station surpassed the pledge drive goal at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, the last evening of the campaign.

Beginning Dec. 1, the drive was nearly one week shorter than drives in previous years. Ohio University Public Television thanks all of the volunteers who gave their time to take calls from viewers throughout the coverage area and to appear on the air. The station also thanks local businesses and restaurants for providing meals to the volunteers.

Associate Director for Development and Communications Doug Partusch expressed his gratitude, adding, "This was really a team effort. We heard from over 400 new and renewing members from around our region who, in turn, will help us to continue to provide the very best in quality television programming."

The Ohio University Telecommunications Center, a unit of the College of Communication, operates two television stations -- WOUB-TV/Channel 20 in Athens and WOUC-TV/Channel 44 in Cambridge -- one cable channel -- WOUB II -- and six radio stations -- WOUB-1340 AM, WOUB-91.3 FM, WOUC-89.1 FM, WOUH-91.9 FM, WOUL-89.1 FM and WOUZ-90.1 FM. The Center, a trusted community resource, uses the power of noncommercial television, radio and other media, such as the World Wide Web, to enrich the lives of children and adults in southeastern Ohio, western West Virginia, and eastern Kentucky through quality programs and educational services that inform, enlighten, inspire, and entertain.
