ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio University Board of Trustees recently appointed Robert L. Moehrman Jr. and Elizabeth Ann Rogers Burrier to the Ohio University-Zanesville Coordinating Council effective Jan. 1, 2002.

Moehrman, a licensed nursing home administrator, was appointed to a nine-year term that ends June 30, 2010, and replaces Charles Love whose term expired. He works as an administrator at The Helen Purcell Home in Zanesville, Ohio, and is responsible for operations, policy making, resident and community relations, development, budgeting and maintaining the fiscal soundness of the business. He is a member of the Zanesville Chamber of Commerce, United States Chamber of Commerce, Zanesville Downtown Association and the Zanesville Rotary Club. He earned a bachelor's degree in biophysics and master's degree in business administration from Ohio State University.

Burrier was appointed to an eight-year council term that ends June 30, 2009, and replaces Thomas Poorman who resigned. She works as a speech and dramatics teacher at Zanesville High School and is a trustee for the Bethesda Care System, Bethesda Health Foundation and the Zanesville Art Center. Heavily involved in the community, she has been presented the West Muskingum Board of Education Award, the Bob and Delores Hope Good Samaritan Award, Friend of Education Award and is a three-time winner of the Merit Club Leaders Conference Award. Burrier is a graduate of Wittenberg University.

The coordinating councils at Ohio University's five regional campuses are responsible for sharing and exchanging information with the communities they serve and appropriate university officials. The 11-member councils examine, discuss and advise on issues of budget, finance, physical plant, educational policies and general administrative practices.
