ATHENS, Ohio -- "The entire Ohio University community is shocked and terribly saddened by the string of terrorist attacks in America today," Ohio University Interim Provost Gary Schumacher said.
"We are monitoring the situation as it unfolds and making necessary adjustments. Based on current information, we have decided it is in the best interest of Ohio University students for the university to remain open and employees to continue working as scheduled at the Athens campus and regional campuses until further notice," Schumacher said.

A series of vigils and discussions will be held on campus this evening. The time, locations and speakers will be posted on the Web as they are determined.
