Ohio University Singers to perform around the State
ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University Singers, a mixed ensemble of 50 voices devoted to performing outstanding choral repertoire of all styles and periods, will be touring Ohio this month.
This year's tour of the state will take the singers to high schools and churches in Athens, Logan, Warren, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Columbus. The repertoire includes, Rene Clausen's "Set Me as a Seal" from A New Creation; Zoltan Kodaly's "Jesus and the Traders"; Samuel Barber's "Anthony O'Daly"; Carl Orff's "O Fortuna" from Carmina Burana; John Ness Beck's "Hymn for Our Time"; Aaron Copland's "Old American Songs" and music for the holiday season.
Peter Jarjisian, professor of music and director of choral activities at Ohio University, directs the Ohio University Singers.
