ATHENS, Ohio -- The Office for Institutional Equity/Disability Student Services at Ohio University will present an interactive workshop Thursday, Nov. 8, on the Athens campus.
The workshop, "College Collaboration - Enhancing Success," will be held in Nelson Dining Hall's Post Office Annex Meeting Room from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will focus on the transition of high school students with disabilities to post-secondary education. A panel of experts representing the Rehabilitation Services Commission,Post-Secondary Disability Service providers and the Ohio Board of Regents will lead a discussion on the roles of educators and the commission in educating students with disabilities. Participants will also have the chance to interact in small groups to discuss and plan sample cases.
"This workshop is a wonderful opportunity for secondary and post-secondary educators to collaborate about the successful transition of disabled students to higher education," said Katherine Fahey, assistant director of the Office for Institutional Equity.
