Session Offered for Liquor Permit Holders

ATHENS, Ohio (September 11, 2000) -- A training session for Athens area liquor permit holders will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, in Morton Hall room 215 at Ohio University. The session is part of HABITS (Handling Alcohol Behavior Impacting Taverns and Students), a grant-funded initiative coordinated by the Ohio Department of Public Safety/Investigative Unit, Ohio University Police Department and Athens Police Department, which is in its second year.

Members of the Ohio Department of Public Safety/Investigative Unit will conduct the training, and representatives of the Athens Police Department and Ohio University Police Department will be available to answer questions. The session will cover local and state rules and laws involving alcohol sales and consumption and related topics, such as recognizing false identifications.
