Holiday Showcase is a New Event to Raise $5,000 to Endow Scholarship
ATHENS, Ohio -- The Employee Showcase Committee invites all Ohio University employees (faculty, administrators, bargaining unit, and non-bargaining unit) to participate in the first Holiday Showcase. The Showcase Committee is currently soliciting items that have been handcrafted by OU employees to sell during the Holiday Showcase. You can donate items, or sell them on consignment with 15% of the selling price going to help endow the Employee Scholarship Fund and the remaining amount going back to the crafter. We are looking for a variety of handmade items including:
- Pottery
- Jewelry
- Fabric Art
- Wood Work
- Ceramics
- Ornaments
- Stained Glass
- Toys
The Holiday Showcase will be held November 29 through December 2, at Trisolini Gallery. The Gallery will be open for university employees and the general public to purchase unique, hand-crafted merchandise from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. November 29 through December 1, and from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on December 2.
The Holiday Showcase has been added this year as a means of raising more money to go into the scholarship fund created by the Annual Spring Employee Showcase, which will be held on May 10 this year. The Spring Employee Showcase began three years ago in order to bring all university employees together to show off their creative talents and to incorporate a fundraiser to endow a scholarship for OU employees and their families. In order to endow this scholarship, an additional $5,000 must be raised.
