Ohio Softball to Participate in First Ever Ohio Collegiate Charity Classic
ATHENS, Ohio (October 5, 2000) -- This weekend the Ohio softball team will travel to Akron to participate in the first-ever Ohio Collegiate Charity Classic hosted by Ohio State. The tournament will feature the Bobcats and all the Division I schools from the state of Ohio. This event will run from Friday, October 6 to Sunday October 8.
Ohio will begin seeding play on Saturday at 11 a.m. against MAC rival Toledo. The Bobcats will also play Ohio State at 3:00 p.m. and Bowling Green at 5:00 p.m. On Sunday, they will finish up seeding play with Dayton at 9:00 a.m.
The top four teams record wise will play for the Charity Classic championship at Firestone stadium. The rest of the teams will play at field two in the consolation bracket. Tickets for the event are $5.00 per day, which allows for one re-entry into the stadium, with all proceeds
going toward breast cancer research.
