ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University's e-mail and Web services will be unavailable from 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18 until 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 19. Facilities Management has scheduled a power outage for the Computer Services Center (CSC) for Aug. 18, to install a new diesel generator. Installation of this generator will largely eliminate computer service disruptions caused by power outages.

All administrative systems, e-mail services, University Web services tied to www.ohiou.edu, ALICE library services, and any other computer services housed in the CSC will be affected. Internet access will not be affected by this outage except for connections to servers located in the CSC. The CSC telephones will be running on battery backup power during the outage and should remain functional for the entire time.
