Athletics Administrative Staff to See Changes

ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University athletics administrative staff will see some changes for the 2001-2002 academic year, announced Director of Athletics Thomas Boeh July 25. The changes come as a result of the June 30 departures of Associate Athletics Directors Dr. Peggy Pruitt (retirement) and Dr. Tim Van Alstine (athletics director at Western Illinois). Pruitt also served as the department's senior woman administrator.

Earning promotions at the senior staff level are Amy Dean and Mark Wilson. Dean moves from an Assistant Athletics Director to Associate Athletics Director for Business and Administration. Dean will continue to oversee business and personnel matters for the department and will also serve as Ohio's SWA. She will also oversee eight of the Bobcats' sports programs. Wilson, Assistant Athletics Director for Development, was also elevated to Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs. He will continue with his development duties and also oversee eight of the Bobcats' sports programs.

Director of Compliance Jennifer Stiles has been elevated to Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and Student Services, adding oversight of the academic services department, strength and conditioning staff and scholarship responsibilities to her duties.

The media services, marketing and promotions offices are also changing this summer. Derek Scott, "voice of the Bobcats" since 1997, has assumed the role of Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations. He will continue to coordinate the Ohio Sports Radio and Television Networks, and will add the department's public relations efforts to his duties. Assistant Director of Media Services Jim Stephan moves to Sports Information Coordinator, handling day-to-day publicity chores for Bobcat athletics, while Women's Golf Coach Ann Slater adds the title of Promotions Coordinator to her coaching assignment.
