ATHENS, Ohio (May 17, 2001) -- Mystery writer P. L. Gaus will be signing copies of his new book, Clouds without Rain: An Ohio Amish Mystery, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, at Little Professor Book Center, 65 S. Court St., in Athens. The public is invited. Refreshments will be served.
Clouds without Rain will be published on June 1, by Ohio University Press. Following on the critical and popular success of his first two books, Gaus again brings us a mystery set authentically among the Old Order Amish sects of Holmes County, Ohio -- the largest Amish and Mennonite settlements in the world. Clouds without Rain captures the fascinating interaction between the Amish and the mainstream "English" cultures.
Gaus teaches chemistry and a course in alternative cultures at The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. He is co-author of the best-selling textbook Basic Inorganic Chemistry and a certified firearms instructor. He is the author of the previous Ohio Amish mysteries Blood of the Prodigal and Broken English.
