OU-COM to Provide Low Cost Child Sports and Camp Physicals

ATHENS, Ohio (May 2, 2001) -- The Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine's Community Service Programs will provide low cost sports and camp physicals for area children on Wednesday, May 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the University Osteopathic Medical Center Family Medicine Department on the second floor of Parks Hall on Ohio University's West Green.
Physicals will be offered for elementary through high school students at several clinics this summer, beginning on May 16. Students should come to the appointment in gym shorts and t-shirts. The cost of each physical is $15, payable at the time of the examination. Immunizations are available at no charge to all children receiving physical examinations. It is requested that appointments for the physicals be scheduled in advance.
Parents should bring immunization records for children to receive immunizations. In addition to immunization records, children under 18 yrs. of age not accompanied by parents must also bring permission slips, specifying what services children are allowed to receive and signed by their parents in order to receive physicals or immunizations.
