ATHENS, Ohio (March 21, 2001) -- Ohio University Public Radio invites community groups and individuals to get involved in the Annual Spring Membership Campaign, "Hit It and Quit."
Community members are encouraged to be a part of this exciting event and to come to the radio studios and celebrate. It's a new millennium, and with that comes a new era of radio. Ohio University Public Radio provides communities with quality radio shows, programs not found anywhere else. New to the airwaves Live from the Fur Peace Ranch every other Sunday at 8:00 p.m., and A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor, airing Saturdays at 6:00 p.m. beginning March 31.
"Hit It and Quit," will run from Friday, March 30 through Sunday, April 8. Volunteers will be needed for two to three hour shifts on weekends and weekday evenings. The theme for this year's campaign, "Hit It and Quit," means just what it says! If the goal of $ 60,000 is reached before April 8, the station will end the on-air membership campaign. To make a pledge before the drive begins, community members may do so on the secure web site, http://woub.org/membership. There is also an opportunity to register to win a week long cruise on one of the Delta Steamboats. Details may be found at the Website.
Volunteer as a group, with friends, or as individuals by contacting Ami Schiffbauer at (740) 593-4962.
