Ohio Grapplers Eliminated at NCAA's

ATHENS, Ohio (March 17, 2001) -- All three Ohio grapplers were eliminated from competition at the NCAA Wrestling Championships at the University of Iowa Friday.

Luke Moore (Springfield) was the last Bobcat in competition in the second session last evening. He fell to #10 Jacob Volkman of Minnesota 7-3. Moore had reached that match by pinning Corey Bell of North Carolina at 6:17. He finished the competition 3-2.

Ryan Smith (Dayton) was eliminated by Lehigh's Ryan Bernholz, 13-11. Dan Bednar (Brecksville) defeated Central Michigan's Brent Faustman 7-3, but fell to #3 Zach Thompson of Iowa State, 9-4. Smith finished 1-2 and Bednar 2-2.

Ohio was 36th after two days of competition.
