ATHENS, Ohio (January 30, 2001) -- Ohioans can stay up to date on happenings across the state when Ohio University Public Television, WOUB/WOUC-TV, premieres "The State of Ohio," a new weekly, half-hour news and public affairs series. "The State of Ohio" will air on Sunday afternoons at 12:30 p.m. beginning February 4.
Each week, a combination of news reports, one-on-one interviews, roundtable discussions, commentaries, and special features will illuminate some of the statešs most important and intriguing stories and issues. The premiere episode on February 4 will feature an interview with Governor Bob Taft. Appearing shortly after his "State of the State" address and just prior to the release of the new budget, Governor Taft will present his views on issues of importance and discuss upcoming budget priorities.
"The State of Ohio" features the reporting team of the Statehouse News Bureau, Bill Cohen and Jo Ingles, and new Bureau Manager, Rob Schober. Together, the team will follow up on their radio stories of the week and other state news.
"The State of Ohio" is a production of Ohio Public Radio and Ohio Public Television Statehouse News Bureau. The series is made possible by a grant from Ohio Educational Telecommunications Network Commission.
