Men's Indoor Track Team Finishes Second

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (January 27, 2001) -- The Ohio men's indoor track team finished second this Saturday at the BGSU Track and Field Invitational. The BGSU Falcons had the home advantage, coming in first with a score of 178 points. Ohio followed with 132. Third place was Saginaw Valley State (110), followed by the University of Toledo (94), and Hillsdale College (93).
The Bobcats were led in scoring by James Taylor, who finished first in the high jump (6-10 3/4) and second in the sixty-meter dash (7.04 seconds). Steve Schaub also had a repeat-performance for the Bobcats; he finished second in the sixty-meter hurdles (8.38 seconds), fifth in the 400-meters (51.25 seconds), and tied for fifth in the sixty-meter dash (7.20 seconds).
Other top Ohio finishers were Kyle Sheer in the high jump (6-7 1/2), John Whitney and Tierra Pought in the triple jump ( 45-11 3/4 and 43-5, respectively), Jason Lanza in the sixty-meter hurdles (8.61 seconds), Andy Cooper in the 800-meter run (1:57.99), and Ron Hill in the 200-meters (22.97). Both the Ohio distance medley relay team (10:59.09) and the 4x400 relay team (3:24.20) captured second in their respective events.
The Bobcats are back in action February 10th at the All-Ohio meet in Findlay.
