Women's Indoor Track Places Third

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (January 27, 2001) -- The Ohio women's indoor track team came in third this Saturday at the BGSU Track and Field Invitational. Miami University won the meet with 186 points, followed by Bowling Green at 166. Ohio captured third place with 158 points, and fourth place went to Saginaw Valley State University at 92.
The Bobcats had only three first-places, but many of the Ohio women placed in multiple events. The winners were Melody Royster in the sixty-meter hurdles (8.85 seconds), Jana Dearth in the 200-meters (26.02), and the 4x400 meter relay team (4:01.41). Royster also collected points with a second-place finish in the sixty-meter dash (7.05 seconds) and third-place in the 200-meters (26.58 seconds). Dearth took a fourth-place finish in the sixty-meter dash (7.98) as
well.
Jacki Waller led the Bobcats on the distance side with second in the 5,000 meters (18:05.65) and third in the 3,000 (10:35.43). Foli James was the primary force in the jumping events with a fourth-place finish in the long jump (18-1 3/4), and second in the high jump (5-5, tied with teammate Sarah List). James also finished fifth in the sixty-meter hurdles (9.22 seconds).
Other top Bobcats were Monique Taylor at third in the triple jump (37-6 3/4), Katie Fiala in third place of the 5,000 (18:01.17), and C'rai Weeden with a third-place finish in the 400m (59.28 seconds).
The Bobcats are back on the track February 10th for the All-Ohio meet in Findlay, Ohio.
