Ohio Men's Swimming Splits with Miami and Bowling Green

ATHENS, Ohio (January 27, 2001) -- The Ohio men's swimming and diving team split with conference power, Miami, and Bowling Green on Saturday afternoon at the Ohio Aquatic Center. The Bobcats fell to the RedHawks 144-94, but managed to defeat the Falcons 139-102.
Miami dominated the meet capturing first place in 11 of the 13 events overall. Kevin Mulgrew finished first in both the 500 (4:41.72) and 1000 (9:29.94) freestyles for the RedHawks.
Ohio's top finisher was junior, Stephen Stanley (Yorktown, Va.), who captured first place in the 200 backstroke (1:55.93) and second in the 400 I.M. (4:06.97). Senior co-captain, Josh Schrage, had a strong showing in his final home meet. The Cincinnati native placed second in the 200 butterfly (1:57.53).
The Bobcats are back in the pool on Feb. 3 when they travel to Toledo to face the Rockets and Ball State.
