Schall Chosen as OU's Employee of the Month
ATHENS, Ohio (January 22, 2001) -- Ohio University's Classified Senate announces that Penny Schall, of Ohio University's Athens campus, has been named the non-bargaining Classified Employee of the Month for January 2001. Penny, who has worked at Ohio University for thirteen years, was honored by the Classified Senate and her department chair Donald Borchert at the Classified Senate's January meeting.
Penny's job as secretary involves providing support to faculty, staff, and students. Professor Borchert said of Penny during the ceremony "she's such a good secretary, but we don't want the word to get out because I'm concerned that someone will steal her." Another professor says of Penny, "this is the month to honor Penny." He explained that with the many tasks and changes going on in the Philosophy Department she has done the job of two secretaries.
Penny, who says she has no other greater accomplishments than being the mother of three wonderful children, says she has her dream job because of all the wonderful people she works with.
