PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (January 6, 2001) -- The Ohio men's swimming and diving team improved its overall dual meet record to 3-3 with a 126-105 victory over Duquesne on Saturday afternoon.
The Bobcats dominated the freestyle events. Junior, Adam Osweiler (Fairborn), captured a pair of first-place finishes, winning the 200 freestyle (1:47.70) and 500 freestyle (4:57.28). Freshman, Paul Hartman (Roanoke, Va.), finished first in the 1000 free (10:12.36) for Ohio.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Dustin Frazier, Bryan Bansbach, Jason Folt and Stephen Stanley won the only other event for Ohio with a time of 1:29.62.
Despite only four first-place finishes, a strong team showing allowed the Bobcats to leave Pittsburgh with the victory.
Eleven different swimmers placed in the top three. Sophomore, Jeff Smullin (Allison Park, Pa.), led the way finishing second in the 200 freestyle (1:50.91) and third in the 100 butterfly (56.25).
The Bobcats are back in the pool on Jan. 20 when they travel to Northern Illinois to face the Huskies and Eastern Michigan.
